World Oil production in numbers..

Hi and welcome yo "World oil production" in numbers.

The yearly oil production is measured in US barrels, and one U.S barrel is 42 US gallon.

These numbers are incredibly high , but believe me when I say that in the future the demand for oil will increase. There are some nations in the world who are still growing,for instants

Countries as India, and China are still in their industrial growing and developing stage. So, fact is that the world oil consumption and production will rise in the future.

First of all

The Table conversion:

1 U.S. barrel = 31,5 U.S. gallon

I oil barrel = 158,98 L

Oil production in numbers

The todays world oil production is about the same: 85 Million barrels a day.

In ltrs this means 85.000.000 x 158,98 Ltrs oil

Knowing that between 2000 and 2008 the world oil consumption was about 253 billion barrels.

To visualize

these huge amounts of oil, we'll give you an example.

We take a soccer field, and that's about 50 meters wide and 100 meters long

If you put one barrel of oil on every square meter of tha field , then the whole field will contains 5000 barrels of oil.

If you wish to put the daily oil production on a few football fields, than you need about 17.000 fields to store all these oil barrels.

The monthly production is about 510.000 barrels of oil.

The yearly production : 6.120.000 barrels of oil.

In miles it would be a space of 90 miles wide and 200 miles long.

You could fill a small country as Belgium, or the Netherlands with these barrels.

The production between 2000 to 2008 was about 253 billion oil barrels .

This would be enough to cover more then half of the U.K with barrels of oil.

Must there be more Oil?

The enormous amount of oil that yearly is been used is one of the main reasons of the global warming and the greenhouse effect. Not only has it a bad influence on co2 levels into our atmosphere, but also the environmental impact in general, with disastrous consequences, not only for nature and wildlife, but also for us: We,humans living on this planet.

These enormous world oil production, leading to co2 emissions and toxic pollution has it's consequences and impact on the nature of the planet. Acid rain for instants, has a large influence on forests, nature and natural water.

Enough reasons to do something about it and to find a way to lower the co2 impact on our environment.
