Nuclear Power plants..
True..nuclear power is the world's largest source of emission-free energy. The use of nuclear power, in place of The current "fossil fuel" power plants, helps to keep the air clean, preserve the Earth's climate, and avoid ground-level ozone formation and prevent acid rain.
True...
There's happened a lot to improve safety of these power plants, and this because of the little disasters and bigger disasters that have happened through out the years..But let us not only look to Europe or the US. We all know that many countries want to increase their energy supply, and nuclear energy would just be perfect. That's what they think, anyway..
Also true... With a nuclear reactor one can never be too sure, and so some countries are getting a lot of attention when they want to start with nuclear power plants, while others can effort to have nuclear energy plants as they want..
So, there are some contradictions in who will have it and who will ( or can) have it not. If it's dangerous.. Then I'll suggest to ban nuclear reactors to produce energy. That's my simply way of taking on the problem.
Another problem with this kind of energy plants is the danger that it can go wrong. Thinking what has happen to Chernobyl in Russia. Even when precautions has been taken, there's always a slightest change that something go wrong.
What can happen? Earth Quack, terrorist attack, human mistakes ( that's what happened in Chernobyl), airplane crash...
A nuclear power plant will be always function with the sword of Damocles. The question is not only if the sword will fall, but when.
As an example:
Flying is the safest way to travel. But we can't exclude airplane disasters from happening, can't we...I believe that this will go for nuclear energy plants too. We can take safety measures as much as we can, but it will never be 100% safe.
The "China Syndrome"
It's not only the danger of having a "China Syndrome" ( When the nuclear reactor has a meltdown) somewhere on the planet, there's also the problem with the storage of the nuclear waste.
When this waste comes into our environment, then this will be also a enormous catastrophe, and one we can not calculate.
If you ask me: Is nuclear energy right to fight climate change? I say, yes, but... only for the time being or better said: For a not too long time. Let the future be green! Let's do research and do some effort to promote other more environmental friendly energy sources..
Let's turn over to "Green Energy" please!
Thanks for your visit and feel free to re-visit to folow the up dates..
