The Greenhouse effect on our planet!

Hi and welcome.

Here we'll try to explain what greenhouse effect means. What kind of gasses are responsible for this, and what it is doing with the planet we are living on .

What are "greenhouse gasses"?

Greenhouse gasses are in main the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane gasses. Carbon dioxide and methane gas are both colorless gases.

In other words: A transparency layer of gas molecules.

This means because of their transparency, that sun radiation can penetrate this layer, but blocked the rising warm air coming from Earth surface. If you are enter a greenhouse wher the sunlight is coming in,immediately you feel temperatures is rising. Just the same way as it happens with global warming..

Showing this with a picture

1... Layers of greenhouse gasses like co2,methane gas... into the atmosphere

2...Carbon dioxide emissions by power plants,cars...

3... Rising warm air blocked by the layer of co2 emissions (and other greenhouse gasses too.)

4....Sun radiation penetrating trough the layers of greenhouse gasses and warming-up the Earth surface below.

What's the carbon impact

Slowly we are start to see the impact of co2 and other greenhouse gasses on our planet: The so called global warming . In the first place, we spotting the greenhouse effects from outer space, with satellites high above the atmosphere. Scientists keep data, make photographs, and notice every changes that occure on our green and blue planet.

What changes are there?

The hot spots they'll keep an eye on. Scientists are studying the pictures taken from several places where ice is storage. ...The North and South-poles. ....Greenland, ... The glaciers.

Melting Ice glaciers are getting shorter during the summer, while with the snow they are growing again in the winter. Not only the length is measured, but also how thick the ice is , and how much snow there's been falling during a certain time. All these data is collected day by day and calculated.

Then, by watching the graphics closely, after a few years they'll see if any significant changes have occurred. Most of the scientists busy with these researches for climate change are unanimous with their astonishing conclusions.

The Ice on the poles and glaciers, formed by thousandth of years, is increasing each year a little bit more. The summer of 2008, almost every ice on the north pole was melted .

Scientists are following the greenhouse effect on Earth closely.
