The carbon footprint
Hi and welcome.
The carbon footprint of a person means: The total amount of carbon dioxide attributable to the actions of an individual over a period of one year. which includes emissions through their energy use, but other unforeseen emissions as well.
This footprint gives you an idea how big or small that impact of that person is on our environment.
Usually will the impact of someone of the industrialized countries , as there are: the United states,Europe, Japan,...will be greater then a person living in let's say Africa.
Although, this is the theory behind the Carbon footprint.
All factors will be measured:The size of Your car, where you live, what kind of house you are living in. What you eat. With how many you live. What kind of vacation that you will do...and so on.
If you are taken yourself as an average person with an average footprint, then you can calculate the total amount of space that your country needs.
Sometime a carbon footprint can be made from a whole country, so you can see how much space a country takes in real.
Finale conclusion. A carbon footprint want to point us on the facts that some countries lifestyle was too high or has a too high weight on the planet.
In the US, and some European countries (I don't say all)the
people having a too big footprint on the planet. Most of the people living in these countries each one's footprint has a territory of about 10 to 20 acres.
For example: For small countries as the Netherlands and Belgium this would mean that they need two or three countries to keep their lifestyle the way they are living now.
That's a shame, and not only the problem of Belgium and the Netherlands but most of the industrialized countries.
If every human been would have such a big footprint, then in the future we will need three..planets.
Personally , I don't believe this will work..So we will have to do something about our way of life.
So you can calculate your own footprint to,sorry but not here on this site.
