Biogas Plant!

A Biogas plant is an excellent form of producing renewable energy and a good way to fight climate change. It's natural head component is Methane gas. Knowing that Methane is also a greenhouse gas,and not the least one. This gas can trap about 20 times more heat than the greenhouse gas CO2. Burning methane in the presence of oxygen produces carbon dioxide and water, and would solve the problem of it's high potential of global warming gas.

Conventional Biogas plants are using dung,sluttier from pigs and cows or other animals and even from humans. The gas that's been produced can be used for producing electricity or for cooking, and communities in the near of these plants can profit from this natural and free gas.Transport is be done by pipe lines to houses in the neighborhood, and they will use this gas for cooking, heating water.A bio-gas plant can also being turned in a small power plant, producing electricity.

When the manure is totally dried, this product can be use as fertilizer for the garden. So, it's a double win. You can gain electrical energy and have a fertilizer rest product.

The Pro

It is a relatively easy and cheap way to produce energy, and that's an advantage for developing countries, like in some areas of India and Africa. But in one way it's has some advantages for every country. Knowing that we have to get the greenhouse gas down, setting up a plant is a good way to produce energy and is a way to fight climate change and stop global warming.

The con's

When building a this kind of plant, there are some safety measures to follow. After-all, it's going about collecting methane gas, and this gas is highly combustible, and when precautions are not enough taken, the risks are quit high for an explosion to happen.

When building a plant working with biogas, then here are some of these safety measure to keep the risks down:

No smoking or open flames should be allowed near biogas plant ( explosion danger).

Metal digester and storage tanks must have wires so that lightning is lead away from the plant into the ground.

To avoid the buildup of heavier- than- air gases,the engine room floor must be build above ground level

The whole system must be checked regularly, this to see if there are no leaks.

lighter-than-air gases must be allow to escape escape. That's why the roof of the engine room must be vented at its highest point.

There must always maintain a positive pressure in the system.

Also something you have to Provide is a ventilation system around all gas lines.

Gas pipes must drain water into condensation traps.
