Biogas Plant

Conventional Bio gas or natural gas plants are using dung,sluttier from pigs and cows or other animals and even from humans. The gas that's been produced can be used for producing electricity or for cooking, and communities in the near of these plants can profit from this natural and free gas. Transport is done by pipe lines to houses in the neighborhood, and they will use this gas for cooking, heating water.

But not only in developing countries biogas is used to produce green energy, but also in the US and countries in Europe have discovered this green energy. These kind of renewable energy becomes more and more part of the energy production.

In the West, they use also dump cows and pigs slutter, and this dump is mixed with Grass, and other plants.

Three different products.

First you have the methane or the biogas that can be used for cooking, or producing electricity.

Secondly: With The fermentation process there is a lot of heat production too. Temperatures in this can raise up to 90°C or 200°F in this stack of organic materials and animal dump.

This heat can generated by tubes filled with water, the same system as a central heating system. The heat can be used for heating homes or as a warming system in green houses

Third product, is also the end-product. When the materials has done it's job of producing gas and heat, then again the organic waste material can being used as fertilizer on the farmland.

So, it's a win-win-win situation. You even can see it as four times win, when you count the lowering greenhouse gasses and the "Fight climate change" factor.

The pros for bio gas

A biogas plant is a relatively easy and cheap way to produce energy, and that's the biggest advantage for developing countries, as there are India and African countries.

But in one way it has some advantages for every country. Knowing that we have to get the greenhouse gas down, setting up a plant is a good way to produce energy and is a way to fight climate change and stop global warming.

The con's for bio gas

Here are some of these safety measure to keep the risks low:

No smoking or open flames should be allowed near biogas plant ( explosion danger).

Metal digester and storage tanks must have wires so that lightning is lead away from the plant into the ground.

To avoid the buildup of heavier- than- air gases,the engine room floor must be build above ground level

It's entire system must be checked regularly, to see if there are no leaks or any other problems that could cause danger.

Lighter-than-air gases must be allowed to escape. The roof of the engine room must be vented regularly at its highest point.

There must always maintain a positive pressure in the system.

Also something you have to Provide is a ventilation system around all gas lines.

Gas pipes must drain water into condensation traps.
